Helping out the neighbors

A few weeks ago I was invited to help launch the historic Menor's Ferry. The ferry is a replica of the original that began operating in Moose in 1894.

The public can enjoy free rides across the Snake River thanks to Mike Nicklaus, Assistant Chief of Interpretation for Grand Teton National Park (also NPS liaison to The Murie Center). Despite a fair bit of resistance, Mike has been passionate about preserving and maintaining this valuable park asset. Moving a five thousand pound wooden boat by rolling it on logs is no easy task. The big front end loader was definitely a help.

Check out the link below if you want to learn more about Menors Ferry.

What a treat. I got to take a turn as a rookie pilot.
